Steps During On-site Assessment

On-site assessment undergoes several activities as follows:

  1. The opening includes an introduction to university leaders, faculty/school, study programme, lecturers, non-academic staff, student representatives, and invited guests. Additionally, it will convey the purpose of implementing on-site assessment and its mechanism and procedure.
  2. Interview sessions with:
    • University leaders
    • Faculty/school leaders
    • The study programme management
    • Internal quality assurance team
    • Institute for research and community service leaders
    • Students from various classes (10-12 students)
    • Non-academic staff including laboratory technicians/analysts, IT staff, administrators, librarians)
    • Graduates within the past three years (8-10 alumni)
    • Graduate users (6-8 employers, preferably non-alumni)
    • Laboratory school/partner school leaders and partners
  3. Observation and assessment of the teaching and learning process (in classrooms, laboratories, or micro-teaching laboratories)
  4. Observation of physical facilities: libraries, laboratories, learning resource centres, student services, and other facilities for students
  5. Clarification and validation of documents
  6. Closing session with the study programme/faculty/school
